The Bible Society of Armenia / ECUMENICAL SUMMER CAMP

From 2016, the Bible Society of Armenia, as a unifying and collaborating organization with different churches, carries on the “Ecumenical Summer Camp” project. The camp is organized for teenagers and youth of different nationalities living in the Republic of Armenia (Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks) and representing different Churches in Armenia (Armenian Apostolic Church, Armenian Catholic Church, Armenian Evangelical Church, Assyrian Church), guided by the following motto: “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).

Our interchurch collaboration experience demonstrated that bringing together people of different Christian confessions around one concept is effective for any project. The first Ecumenical Summer Camp, successfully and effectively held in 2016, paved the way for carrying on and expanding the project.

The one week camp program includes Bible study, meetings with clergymen of different Churches in Armenia, common prayer, pilgrimage, production of handmade things, learning new skills, national dances and rites, sporting, entertainment and so on.
