2018 February 19, Monday

On the occasion of ''Book-Giving Day'' I visited #14 Special School for Visually impaired Children. Every time I visit this school and meet the children I really feel frankness, affection and love.

At the very begening of our discussion I told tem. ''Yesterday, I was thinking what book I will offer to someone? It didn't take much time to decide, I tought of you. So, In this way, by giving books as gifts, I would be able to make a lot of people happy, and not only one person. Because of that, today I'm here, to give you the recently published the Book of Genesis, in Giant Print and some Braille to some students, who didn't received 2 weeks ago.

Gor Hambardzumian, who had his own copy, told me that he has already finished Sirach and begun to read the Genesis, and from the first pages հե learnt how important the lesson of loyalty is! There are moments when it is worth only to listen to these children without adding something else. I was looking for Murad, whose name skipped from my mind for one moment, but when I noticed him I went close and told him. ‘’I have forgotten your name, but I know it begins by innitial ‘M’…’’ He interrupted me by smile and added. ‘’Mr. Kapoudjian, just remember Murad Sebastaci (an Armenian national hero, from 19th century), and you will remember my name…’’ All the attendees began to laugh. I forgot what I was going to tell and began to sing a song dedicated to the hero for Murad, ‘’You, Murad of Sebastia, have fought with bravery against the enemy…’’, and all the students continued on the song. The gathering has become a feast. Then Murad asked me that he wishes to sing a song with Vika, 5th grade teenage girl.

Together they began to sing another national song, and the student joined their singing till the end of the song. It was their lunch time, and I asked them to go to have their meal. ''No, No! We are not hungry''. I was near Murad and told him. ''Dear Murad, you have a good chashak, Vika has really sung beautifully, you have made a good choice. The hearty laught filled the hall. Before leaving, Arthur, 7 years old boy called me. ''Thank you, Santa Claus.

I understood how happy man Santa Claus is! After emptying his bags, he leaves this world carrying a big joy in his heart, promising to come again...
