2018 February 19, MondayThe day February 19, was an unforgettable day for the BS Armenia. The day was the birthday of Hovhannes Toumanian, a famous poet, called ''Poet of All Armenians''. The Armenians celebrate this day by giving books to each other, and the day is called ''Book- Giving Day''. The same day at noon, the BS projects Director visited The Union of Blinds and met with the vice president Mr. Martun Sargssian and the staff at their headquarter in Yerevan, and told the reason of his visit, giving them all some copies of the launched Braille and Giant Print books on behalf of the Society.
Mr Sargssian has made a brief presentation of the Union's 87 years of history since 1930. By their effort they established enterprises, buildings, clubs, libraries and 3 huge cultural houses, almost in every city, and concluded. ''We were state within the state. And now if you unite all these constructions, at the end you will get a very big and beautiful city.'' Then he took the Braille books, the Giant Prints and stated. “I cannot hide my joy mainly for the Giant Print publications. You have taken a grateful initiative. Nowadays the number of blind people is reducing, and contrary, increasing the number of people who have visual difficulty. In this way you are solving a very important psychological problem. Now we don't ask a family member to read something for us, we are able to read ourselves, even I am able to read this book (he began to read the Book of Genesis). Really, this is a huge support. We feel enriched.''
Then he touched again some Braille books and expressed his gratitude for the quality of the papers, claiming them ''long-living papers.''
It is a unique happiness to make happy somebody or a community. You are leaving joy and happiness, but at the same time you are taking another happiness and satisfaction with you. This is an endless joy.
